My relationship with yoga

I tried it by dipping into random classes over the years, I got the benefits of yoga but I just found it frustrating and slow and quite frankly boring. Until lock down where I took part in live yoga classes online with a fab teacher called Sue and I could feel a real increase in my range of movement. This lasted until we all went back to work sadly.

Then it all went wrong.

I was working in education, climbing the career rankings and was at Vice Principal, it was a small school so I wore several other hats too, until February 2023 and I realised I just could not keep going. Exhausted and broken I was made to take some time out and there is where my love of yoga was reignited but this time the light was not to be extinguished.

Where it all came right.

I started practicing yoga daily and found more benefits than the physical. My nervous system was shot and I found the yoga began to support the repair of it. Then I decided to look into becoming a yoga teacher and to cut a long story short my whole understanding of yoga has changed, the reasons for practising, the benefits, the connection with myself and I hope that I can share all the parts of yoga with you if you come to a class with me. My commitments to you are;

  • I try to live my life in line with yoga philosophy and will share parts of it in class to support understanding of the practice as a whole.
  • I understand that different people want different things from yoga and I aim to facilitate that.
  • Breath work is beautiful.
